Denzil's Piano Service

Home

Music has always been a huge part of my life. At age 11. I began playing music professionally. At age16 I traveled through Europe, touring with a group of young musicians. My love of music took me from my home in the San Francisco Bay area to Scottsdale, AZ where I joined a popular local band. It was during this time in Arizona that I developed an interest in piano tuning. In 1975, I began my apprenticeship in the art of piano tuning and rebuilding in Phoenix, AZ.

In 1977, my wife Suzanne began her apprenticeship in piano repair and rebuilding. With our training completed in 1978, we were ready to start our own business, so we moved back to our native San Francisco Bay area settling in San Leandro.

We are a husband and wife team who strive for complete customer satisfaction by ensuring that their piano is tuned, repaired, or refinished to its fullest potential. We have provided service to over 6,500 customers over the past 30 years and have built a solid base of friends and repeat customers. We have rebuilt many uprights and grand pianos including Steinway, Bosendorfer, Yamaha, Baldwin and many more. We work with you based on your own needs and your expectations of what you want your piano to be. Your piano is a lifetime investment, and is worthy of the care and upkeep that protects its value. It is our pleasure to serve you.

Quiet Please

To achieve the best possible tuning for your piano, you should provide a quiet environment for the tuner to work in. Every noise or sound within hearing distance of the tuner may compromise the quality of your tuning. There are some sounds within the household that can impede the tuner's hearing. Here are just a few:

Loud voices, children, or pets
Dishes clanging and running water
TV, radio, clocks
Vacuum cleaner or lawn mower
With your help the tuner will be able to achieve the best possible tuning for your piano.
